Norovirus outbreak at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Members of the public are being asked to avoid visiting certain wards at Cheltenham General Hospital and Gloucestershire Royal Hospital to help contain the spread of norovirus.

Temporary restrictions have been introduced to protect vulnerable patients by reducing the number of people moving in and out of affected wards. Patients are being asked to please check with relatives or ward staff before visiting wards to ensure access is permitted.

Exceptions will be made for carers and those visiting on compassionate grounds who may visit but are asked to call ahead or speak to a member of staff upon arrival.

We kindly request that nursing care home colleagues consider whether they can use the direct access pathway to Rapid Response for residents who meet the criteria to support with clinical review.

Thank you for your patience, hard work and support.
