New WhatsApp tool launched to support carers in Gloucestershire

Gloucester County Council have developed a new Whatsapp tool geared towards carers. Unpaid carers across Gloucestershire can now get quick, simple help to find local information and support through a new WhatsApp tool.

“Ask Grace” has been developed by Gloucestershire County Council to give carers fast access to trusted information and guidance, whenever they need it - day or night. Using AI, it responds to messages and guides people to relevant local services and support, saving time searching online or making multiple calls.

The tool brings together key information in one place, helping carers feel more confident about where to turn for help and freeing up valuable time to focus on the person they care for.

Many people don’t always recognise themselves as carers. If a person is helping a family member, friend or neighbour with day-to-day tasks, appointments or emotional support, that means they’re a carer. 

It has been shaped and tested with carers and local partners to make sure it is easy to use, practical and responsive to real-life needs.
