An annual campaign led by charity Blood Pressure UK, with a series of health check drop-in events where people can get their blood pressure checked.

More than four in 10 UK adults (43%) do not know their current blood pressure reading, and almost a third (31%) do not check it regularly. While most people understand the risks of high blood pressure, many are still not taking action.

A blood pressure check is simple, quick and painless, and it could save your life.

Although 84% of people know that high blood pressure can lead to a heart attack and 79% are aware that it increases the risk of stroke, there are still some common misconceptions. Almost half (49%) mistakenly believe that high blood pressure has obvious symptoms. In reality, it often has no symptoms at all until a serious health problem occurs.
